Euro trash '07; Switzerland, Baden, BADENFAHRT

Gruezi! Or G'Day!

Whoever said the Swiss were boring has obviously never been to BADENFAHRT. Ten days of hedonistic, well organised, party fun! Its kinda like O week at Uni.

The town of Baden comes alive once every ten years to let its hair down. This year they shipped in the Eiffel tower, The Statue of Liberty and the front bit of the Parthenon. This year the Lourve even lent them the Mona Lisa for a few days. Whoever said it was small, lied.

The Badenfahrt formula starts with consuming whatever you like to drink and eat from around the world. We ate Cambodian spring rolls and Swiss Raclette. Then you are free to be merry, meet new friends and of course wear your sunglasses at night. Beware though; Young kids do harass you for 'weed' and want you to buy them drinks with their money.
The next step in the formula is the whopping hangover. Traditionally the Swiss tackle this by going Wakeboarding. The Swiss dig it, and so do our once Australian, now Swiss mates. Obviously they never caught onto the jokes.

For a bit of downtime, we (Lucy, Tom and Robbo) headed to the south for some real Swiss scenery. It delievered. We stayed one night in Locarno on Lake Maggiore, and then another in a tiny village in the Vallle Verzasca. It was here that Tom realised that he had forgotten his Dads Birthday (Sorry Dad, hope you had a good one!).

Oh and of course we added to our Victorinox collection during our stay!!

Love, Lucy and Tom xxx
